What this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

This website is operated by Glowcraft Christmas Lights Laguna Beach (“Glowcraft”, “we”, “us”). We install Christmas lighting for homes and commercial properties in Laguna Beach, California.

This policy explains what personal information the website collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Information you give us in the course of a job, for example when signing a service agreement, is handled under that agreement.

Information we collect

Information you give us

The website collects personal information only when you choose to send its quote request form. The form asks for your name, email address, the type and address of the property, the services you are interested in and your preferred light style, and, if you choose to give them, a phone number, when you would like the lights installed, approximate project details and any additional notes. If you choose a service elsewhere on the site, that choice is only carried into the form through the page address; nothing is sent until you send the form.

Please do not include sensitive information, such as payment card numbers, in the form. We never ask for payment details through this website.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, this one is delivered by a hosting service, which processes technical data in order to send pages to your browser and keep the service secure. That data includes your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. See “Service providers” below.

The website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, social media pixels or session recording, and it sets no cookies. Fonts and images are served from this website itself, not from a third party.

How we use your information

We use the information you send us to:

  • reply to your message or quote request by email or phone;
  • work out whether your property is in our service area and prepare a quote;
  • schedule and carry out work you ask us to do;
  • keep a record of our dealings with you; and
  • protect the forms from spam and misuse.

We do not use form submissions for marketing campaigns, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing text messages. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.

Service providers

We use a small number of companies to run this website. They process information on our behalf.

  • Netlify, Inc. hosts the website and runs the code that receives form submissions. Netlify processes the technical request data described above, and each form submission passes through its systems. Netlify’s privacy policy.
  • Netlify Forms stores each form submission so that we can read it, and notifies us when a new one arrives. Netlify screens submissions for spam, which may involve a third-party spam filtering service.

Once a submission reaches us it is kept in our business email or records. Some of these providers process data on servers in the United States.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other businesses for their advertising.

Apart from the service providers listed above, we disclose personal information only where the law requires it, to protect our legal rights, or to a successor if the business is sold or reorganized.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and messages for as long as needed to respond, to carry out any work that follows, and to meet our record-keeping obligations. When we no longer need the information, we delete it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See “Your choices and rights”.

Security

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and form submissions are sent over that connection. Access to submissions is limited to the people who need them to respond. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act where it applies to a business. Whether or not that law applies to us, we will respond to requests to know, correct or delete your information.

Do Not Track. The website does not track visitors across other websites, so it behaves the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

To make a request, use the form on our Contact page. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.

Children

This website is intended for adults arranging services for a property. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the website handles personal information, for example by adding analytics or a new service provider, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
